Tips for Successful Quick Weight Loss Programs

A quick weight loss program will require significant changes in your life if it is to be successful. Successful weight loss requires a special commitment that cannot be underestimated and any weight loss program should be taken seriously as there are a number of things to consider. The speed at which a person will lose weight depends on many factors; some are shown below:

  • Genetics
  • Previous mental anguish
  • Attitude towards improving their health

Overweight people have a number of image and self worth issues which can seriously affect them. Losing weight can be the turning point in an overweight or obese person's life and they can get their self-respect back and reduce the number of associated health risks. This is the reason why so many people want rapid weight loss systems, so they can start seeing results quickly but they also need support from family and friends; an approach that combines diet, exercise, emotional support and in some cases, diet supplements must be used if it is to be successful.

Exercise should be regular and consistent with at least fifteen minutes per day doing anything that is good for cardiovascular health, like swimming, running, brisk walking and even dancing.

Not all rapid weight loss plans will work with everyone and those that do work will produce different results for everyone that uses them; we are all unique and cannot expect to lose weight at the same rate. If you are not losing weight as fast as you would like, you can always change aspects of the plan you are on and adjust the amount of exercise you carry out each day but you will know your body and limitations better than anyone else.

As there are many systems to choose from, if you find one isn't working for you then change it for another as it is unreasonable to expect every diet plan to work for everyone.

Some people are unable to run, dance or swim so if you are only comfortable walking then that is fine; don't be concerned if you find yourself building a little muscle from the activity as it will just burn the calories all the faster. Drinking water regularly throughout the day is very important; rapid weight loss depends on flushing your system out so you must stay hydrated during the process, about 6 large glasses per day should be enough.

Even though white meat and fish are generally good for you, they can contain more fat than is desirable so stay clear of deep fried foods in general as they are full of fat that is damaging to your system.

Grilled food is better as the fat is not retained in the food or if it is, very little so it will be much healthier for you. Whilst some diets advocate a reduction in carbohydrates, this should be done in consultation with a nutritionist as carbohydrates are the fuel that creates the energy required for your body to function.

This type of quick weight loss program supplies between 1,000 and 1,500 calories per day and it is not too difficult to lose about a pound or so in weight every day; however, it is quite possible that weight will start to rise again if you do not maintain a reasonable calorie level each day.

I just love to eat - but I also understand that too much food (any type of food) can pile on the pounds - so I take a lot of exercise to help burn it off - or maybe that's why I'm hungry all the time :o)
